Feeding The Family

Irish Stew :

Serves – 4
Prep Time – 15 mins
Cooking time – 1hr 40 - 1hr 50mins
Approx cost - £5.00

Ingredients

Onions
Garlic
Salt & Pepper
Flour
Stock
Lamb
Various Vegetables
Crusty Bread



Method

  • Fry onions and garlic until soft with a little water
  • Add the lamb, salt and pepper
  • Continue to cook until the meat is well sealed
  • Sprinkle with flour and cook for 1 minute to cook out the flour.
  • Mix the stock cube with the stock and gradually add to the pan avoiding making flour lumps!
  • Cover and simmer for 1 hour until the meat is tender.
  • Then add the remaining vegetables and cook for a further 25 minutes.
  • Serve with thick crusty bread to dip in the gravy. Yum.
